ZADAR is an ancient historical town of Croatia about four thousand years old. Today Zadar is cultural, economic and administrative centre of North Dalmatia. There is a very rich spiritual culture that combined with the tourit tradition in the town, created its tourist identity in present time. As a treasury of the huge archeological, artistic and monumental wealth of the classical, medieval and renaissance periods, Zadar has constantly been the source of Croatian History and scientific heritage. The down town of Zadar is centered on the Roman forum, within the old preserved city walls full of Old-Croatian sacral monuments. It is crowded with archives, museums, libraries, thus being custodian of our literary and musical heritage. Zadar is a traditionally lively tourist town that enjoys the patronage of even four saints: St. Zoilo, St. Simon, St. Grisogonus and St. Anastasia. The town became the centre of various selective tourist programs: nautical tourism with marinas, hotels, apartments and villas, tourist villages, the congress and religious tourism etc.
